What can you do on this screen?

You can create test items on the Practice and Assessment elements underneath the enabling objective levels, as well as for Assignment, Job, and Problem Sheets. When it comes to the output of test items:

•Test items created under a Practice element will output in the Instructor Guide and similar outputs at the Module, Terminal Objective, and Enabling Objective Levels. You can also preview the test items for a selected Practice element by selecting Preview.

•Test items created under an Assessment element will ONLY output in Assessments and Assessment package outputs. You can also preview the test items for a selected Assessment element by selecting Preview.

•Test items created on Sheets will output in the Participant Guide and answers to those test items will output in the back of the Instructor Guide. You can also preview the test items in the Participant Guide output at the Module, Terminal Objective, and Enabling Objective Levels.

Once you have selected the practice or assessment element, or are viewing the sheet, you can:

•View/Edit Title-Edit the practice or assessment title, the sheet information, and the stem(s) of any test items.

•Add a New CitationNewTestItem.

•Paste CitationPasteTop a copied test item at the top of the list of test items.

•Select Explain Flag Flag-Yellow to review the reasons the test item has been flagged.

•View CitationView a selected test item and then edit the test item.

•Delete CitationDelete a selected test item.

•Move a selected test item Up CitationUp or Down CitationDown in the list of test items to resequence the list of test items.

•Copy CitationCopy/Paste CitationPaste a test item.

•Select Show History ShowHistory to review the changes made to the practice or assessment element, or the sheet.

•Delete Delete-White a selected practice or assessment element, or sheet.
Note: Depending on your configuration of LEAD, you may not be able to delete the only practice or assessment element under the Enabling Objective Level.

•View/Edit the Storyboard for the test item, practice, or assessment element.

•View the Design Considerations for the Enabling Objective Level.

Editing a Practice or Assessment Element Editing a Practice or Assessment Element

Select the practice or assessment element then select Edit Title-Edit. Select Save to keep the changes, select Cancel to return the practice or assessment element.

Type

You cannot change the Type for practice and assessment elements. If you add a new element and select the Practice or Assessment type, then you cannot change that after you saved the new element.

Title

The Title of the element or major heading. This will guide the instructor and participants through the content.
Editing an ElementAdding or Editing a Sheet

Selecting the Sheets folder allows you to create a new sheet, by selecting New-White. To edit a sheet, select the Sheet then select Edit Title-Edit or CitationEdit next to the item you wish to edit. Select Save to keep the changes, select Cancel to close the sheet.

For each tab (heading), you can create as many text, resource, or test item entries as you need. Not all areas of a sheet allow for all types of entries.

Output Note: If you leave an area (or tab/heading) empty/blank by not adding any entries, then that area will not output in the Participant Guide.

Test Item Note: If you add a text entry on a tab that also allows for test items, as you can on the:

•Assignment Sheet: Study Questions tab.

•Job Sheet: Self-Test Questions tab.

•Problem Sheet: Problem tab.

And you want to include the answer(s) in the back of the IG, as happens with the other test item types, then you need to add an Essay Question test item:

1.Set the Stem to Answer.

2.Enter the answer text in the Add/Edit Answer text box.

To Add a Test Item

1.Select CitationNewTestItem to open the Test Item Detail screen.

2.Select the Type of test item.

3.Then complete the test item fields. With some test items, you need to save the test item first, before you can complete all the fields for the test item.

4.Select Save to save the test item. Select Cancel to return to the list of test items if you do not wish to save the new test item.

5.Then complete any additional fields or the Storyboard.

Type

The Type of test item. Once you've selected the type, you cannot change it. If you need a different type of test item, delete the incorrect one and add a new one. LEAD has the following test item types to choose from:

•Essay Question

•Fill-in-the-Blank

•Multiple Choice (supports both single and multiple correct answers)

•Performance (For Assessment Elements only)

•Short Answer

•True/False

•Two-Column Matching

Once you've finished working on a test item, select the X at the top right of the test item screen to return to the list of test items.

To Edit a Test Item

Select View CitationView in the same row as the test item. Select Edit Title-Edit or CitationEdit to edit a piece of the test item (stem or answers). Select Explain Flag to review the reasons the test item or piece of a test item (stem or answers) has been flagged.
