What can you do on this screen?
Assessments can be added under the Curriculum Development folder to be at the same level as a Module Level (if you have that level in your initiative), or on the same level as a terminal or enabling objective. You can select which enabling objectives will be tested in the assessment in the Objectives tab, where you will see all objectives at the same level or below the selected level in the tree structure.

On this screen, you can:
•View the assessment information by clicking on the assessment.
•Edit the information (including the title, but not the Status - you can edit the Status on the Develop tab).
•Select Show History to review the changes made to the information, including the user name and date/time of saved changes, and revert to an earlier saved revision.
•Preview the table of contents outline (structure of your initiative with applicable objectives).
•Delete the assessment (provided no content exists on the Develop tab). Once you've selected OK to the confirmation message, the Training Outline Deletion screen displays. Enter the title of the table of contents item to confirm the deletion.
Note: You can copy and paste the title from the screen into the field to make it easier on yourself. If you only enter a partial title, the item will not be deleted and the Training Outline Deletion screen stays open, ready for you to try again.
•Select Explain Flag to review the reasons the assessment has been flagged.
•View the Objective information by selecting View .
•View/Edit the Test Design Considerations.
You can add assessments below the: •Course Level (so the assessment is at the same level as a module). •Module Level (so the assessment is at the same level as a terminal objective level). •Terminal Objective Level (so the assessment is at the same level as a enabling objective level). To add assessments: 1.Select the Table of Contents item in the tree structure under which the assessment should be created. 2.Select and then Assessment from the list. 3.Enter the desired data. 4.Select Save to save the new assessment or select Cancel to close the Assessment Detail pop-up without saving the new assessment. |
Select Edit to make changes, then select Save to keep the changes or Cancel to return to the Assessment screen.

Assessment Title The full name or Assessment Title of the assessment or test. Test Type The Test Type of the assessment or test. The list of test types can be customized as part of the schedule event types on the Customizations tab. A performance assessment, as set up on the Customizations tab, will only include the Performance Test Item when it is being generated. All other test item types will be excluded for a performance assessment. Status The Status of the assessment from lowest to highest status: •Incomplete - the assessment is a work in progress and/or is missing some required data as defined in a business rule. •Complete - the assessment is complete. •Lock for Review oThe assessment is complete and ready for review. oYou can only edit the assessment if you have the Review privilege assigned to your role. oTo change the Status to Lock for Review, you need the Edit or Review privilege assigned to your role. oTo change the Status back to Incomplete or Complete, you need the Review privilege assigned to your role. •Locked oThe assessment is complete and has been reviewed, no more work is allowed. oNo one can edit the assessment and related content without unlocking the item first. oTo change the Status to Locked, you need the Lock privilege assigned to your role. oTo change from Locked to any other status, you need the Unlock privilege assigned to your role. •Approved oThe assessment is approved when the initiative is approved. oNo more changes can be made; you must create a new version of the initiative in order to make changes. When you save a change in Status or lock the assessment on the Develop tab, the required Business Rules will run to check whether anything is missing. Any identified issues are listed on the Business Rules Results screen. The Delivery Method of this table of contents item. You have the following options under the Curriculum Development folder on the Design tab: •IMI - Interactive Multimedia Instruction. •Instructor-Led - or facilitator led. •Blended - using a mix of IMI and Instructor-Led. •EPSS - Electronic Performance Support System. Min Passing Score (0-100%) The Min Passing Score (0-100%) is the minimum percentage scored by a participant that is needed to pass the assessment or test. Total # of Test Items The Total # of Test Items is the total number of test items required for this assessment or test. Your local guidance should let you know whether this number is the number of test items required for a test or assessment, or whether this number is the total number of test items that are required in the test bank from which individual tests are created. Retest The Retest field answers the question whether participants are allowed to retake the test or assessment, should they fail to get the minimum score. Duration (in minutes) The Time (in minutes) is the total test or assessment time, as laid out on the Schedule screen of the Training Management Document. This time can only be edited on the Schedule screen. Retest Criteria These are the criteria a participant must meet, in order to retake the assessment or test, if a retest is allowed. |

To choose the enabling objectives that will be tested through this assessment, start by editing the assessment and then: 1. Select the Objectives. The Objective Selection screen will pop-up. 2.Select the objectives that will be tested in this assessment and unselect those that will not. a.Selected items have a checkmark next to them. b.Unselected items have an empty selection box next to them. 3.Select OK to save the selection, this closes the Objectives selection window and returns you to the assessment editing window. 4.Scroll to the bottom of the assessment window and select Save. Objective Text The Objective Text that is assessed or tested by this assessment. The list of enabling objectives tested by this assessment can be changed by using Select. You can select from all objectives at the same level or below the selected level in the tree structure. |
You can enter test design consideration information to help with the development of any assessment. On any screen that displays a Test Design Considerations link, click that link to display the Test Design Considerations Detail screen. Once you've opened the Test Design Considerations Detail screen, you can: •Add a Text entry to a selected tab (heading) and convert it to a Note, Caution, Warning entry. •Paste a copied Text, Note, Caution, or Warning entry to the end of the list of entries. •Select Explain Flag to review the reasons an item on the test design considerations has been flagged. •Edit a selected Text, Note, Caution, or Warning entry. •Delete a selected Text, Note, Caution, or Warning entry. Once you've selected OK to the confirmation message, an Undo button displays on the bottom left of the screen that allows you to revert the deletion. •Copy /Paste a selected Text, Note, Caution, or Warning entry. •Move a selected Text, Note, Caution, or Warning entry Up or Down in the list of entries to resequence the list of entries. In the Test/Assessment Strategy field, you can describe the specific strategies and procedures that will ensure testing is completed at appropriate times and at the appropriate levels. You can identify the objectives to be tested in this field, along with the testing method. Include a description of: •What type of behavior the participant must show in order to master the learning objectives. •Each type of scenario that is to be included in the practice, and test items. A table shall be provided listing the total number of practice and test items that the content author must produce for each type of scenario. •The test types, their sequence and frequency. •The test interface (on paper or electronic) and test marking procedures. •The remediation options. •How the performance of individual participants will be tracked. In the ISD Comment field, you can capture any comments from the instructional systems designer (ISD) working on the design of the table of contents item that will help with the development effort. Figure 181: Design Considerations - Test Items
In the Test Items field, you can list potential test items (in narrative form) based on the objective and proficiency definition(s). These can later be developed into test items on the Develop tab. Figure 182: Design Considerations - Test Layout Conventions
In the Test Layout Conventions field, you can detail how the test or assessment should be laid out. This is particularly important for assessments that are not created in LEAD. Figure 183: Design Considerations - Test Constraints
In the Test Constraints field, you can include the number of participants that can be tested at the same time, as well as other constraints, like time of day, availability of equipment, or availability of safety personnel. Points of Contact Figure 184: Design Considerations - Points of Contact
The Points of Contact area lists the personnel and places involved for this table of contents item. ISD Personnel The ISD Personnel (instructional system design) working on this table of contents item. Initiative Manager The name of the Initiative Manager working on this initiative. Content SME The name(s) of the Content SME(s) (subject matter expert(s)) working on this table of contents item. Production Facility The name of the Production Facility responsible for this table of contents item. Graphics/Media Personnel The name(s) of the Graphics/Media Personnel working on this table of contents item. |
