Figure 305: IETM Detail Screen
Either option opens the IETM Detail screen, ready for you to review, or update the following fields. Then:
•To keep the edits you've made to an existing IETM, select Save. This will return you to the list of IETMs.
•If you do not want to keep the edits, just select Cancel to close the pop-up.
•If you're reviewing an IETM, you can select Edit to make changes, or select Approve to approve the IETM, or you can close the pop-up window by selecting the X in the top right of the pop-up.
Type
The Type or sub-category of the resource. The resource type allows you to further specify what kind of resource it is. You can set up the resource categories on the Customizations screens, to enable you to define groups of resources within the main categories.
Title
The Title or name of the resource. Resources are used or cited extensively in initiatives, specifically, on the following screens:
•Analysis - in the Training Needs Analysis and the Task Analysis.
•Design - in the Training Management Document.
•Develop - in the initiative contents: pages and paragraphs, sheets, and test items.
Number
The Number of the resource could be a document number or other identifying number. The number can be used to distinguish between like-titled resources.
Version
The Version number of the resource. All resources start with version 1. Once a resource has been approved, changes can no longer be made, unless a new version of the resource is created. Then changes can be made as needed in the new version.
When viewing the resource item, you can view a previous version by selecting it from the Version drop-down.
Status
The current Status of the resource. Once the initiative that uses the resource is approved, then the resource is also approved. You can also approve a resource manually by viewing the resource on the Resources tab and then selecting Approve on the screen. You cannot approve a resource from the Edit screen.
Version Text
The Version Text of the resource. Unlike the Version field, this field is user editable, so you can enter the version number or text of the resource, if applicable.
Supplier
The Supplier of the resource, that is where you can buy it. Provide as much detail as is necessary to help someone order or request the resource from the supplier.
Unit of Issue
The Unit of Issue indicates how many items of the resource come together in a box or a pack. This helps determine how many resources need to be bought.
Unit Cost
The Unit Cost is the cost of buying one unit (e.g., one box of pencils, or a pack of paper) of the resource.
URL
The location or URL of the IETM or IETM Viewer that will enable you to view the IETM from within LEAD. This could be a server location or an internet address.
The Comparison File shows the file name of the file that was uploaded to LEAD. This file is used to map the IETM nodes between the current version of the IETM and the immediate prior version of the IETM when the node identifiers are not persistent between different versions of the IETM. Using the comparison file allows LEAD to identify changes when you update to the latest version of the IETM in the initiative, or when you generate the Impact Report.
When a comparison file has been saved to an IETM you can:
•Select Download to save the comparison file to your computer.
•Select Delete to remove the comparison file from the IETM.
•Select Replace next to the Replace Comparison File field to change the comparison file to an updated one, even for an approved IETM.
Replace Comparison File (only shows when editing an IETM with an existing comparison file)
If you need to change the comparison file that was uploaded previously for the IETM, click Replace to select a replacement file. The Replace File shows the file name of the file that was uploaded to LEAD. Select , if you don't want to keep the file you just uploaded.
Extraction File
If you need a copy of the extraction file that was used to create the IETM, select the Extraction File link. This will generate and download the IETM extraction file for you. This allows you to create the IETM in another instance in LEAD.
