In LEAD version 2.2, any orphaned files, including IMM files, IETM comparison files, and project surveillance packages, will be deleted automatically, as part of LEAD's automated clean up functionality. However, this automated functionality won't clean up any existing orphaned files, hence the option to Delete Orphaned Files was included on the LEAD Administration screen.
If you want to get a list of the files that will be deleted and their locations, follow these steps:
1.Go to the Configuration screen.
2.Edit the Optional Features entry, that is under the Program group.
3.Add a new entry '|T' to the existing entries, making sure to use the '|' character between the T and any existing entry and Save.
4.Return to the LEAD Administration screen.
5.Select Run
for the Delete Orphaned Files option and select OK to the warning message.
6.Once the process is complete, you will get an error message, stating that 0 repository file(s) were deleted. Click OK to close that message.
7.Now select View
for the Show Debug Files option.
8.Select the debug file with today's date on the Debug File Listing screen and select View
.
9.Scroll through the debug file to the FileRepositoryListDeletion File entry that matches the time you ran the Delete Orphaned Files process to see all the directories and files that would be deleted when you run the Delete Orphaned Files process. At the end of the file listing you will see entries that sum up the number of directories and files that would be deleted.
10.Now return to the Configuration screen to remove the '|T' entry you added to the Optional Features entry.
When you're ready to delete the orphaned files, return to the LEAD Administration screen and select Run
for the Delete Orphaned Files option and select OK to the warning message. When the process is complete, you will get a message advising you of the total number of files that were deleted. To see the list of files that were deleted:
•Select View
for the Show Debug Files option on the Admin > LEAD Administration screen.
•Select the debug file that contains the date you ran the Delete Orphaned Files process on the Debug File Listing screen and select View
.
•Scroll through the debug file to the FileRepositoryListDeletion File entry that matches the time you ran the Delete Orphaned Files process to see all the directories and files that were deleted. At the end of the file listing you will see entries that sum up the number of directories and files that were deleted.
When you select Run
for the Delete Orphaned Files option again, after having already deleted the orphaned files, you should get a message that there were no files to be deleted.
